UGLY BETTY 5/21/09 TWO HOUR SEASON FINALE

Ugly Betty had its third season finale tonight and Henry (Christopher Gorham who is currently starring in CBS' Harper's Island, also as another Henry!) returned to confuse Betty with her new relationship with Matt.  This will be the last new episode in its Thursday 8pm (EST) timeslot.  UB moves to Fridays at 9pm next season.  With this risky scheduling move when most of its audience will not be home watching it (out to the movies, prepping for the clubs, late dinner), we could be looking at a series finale come 2010!  Hope I'm wrong!

GLEE SEASON PREMIERE PREVIEW 5/19/09

Glee club teacher was fired and another teacher, Mr. William Schuester (a handsome and charming, Matthew Morrison) took over the club (renaming it, "New Directions"), wanting to transform this group of misfits into a success.  But, the chemistry in the club was lacking until Will overheard one of the jocks singing in the gym shower.  Will used the medicinal marijuana that the fired teacher forced him to hold onto, by saying that he found the pot in the jock's locker and the only way to make to right was for him to join Glee Club. 

Will and his high school sweetheart, Terri had trouble at home because she wanted to be upwardly mobile and needed a lot of attention, but he was happy just being creative. (his passion for Glee Club).  Terri later said that she was pregnant, so Will had to quit Glee Club and being a teacher to spend more time at home to Terri's happiness and applied for a job as an accountant for better benefits!

But, Will's colleague and secret admirer, Emma showed him (via laptop) that his last time of true happiness was when led a Glee Club to the finals years ago and Will decided to stick with the new Glee Club to take them all the way!   

 

NO MORE RECAPS OF AMAZING RACE, CELEBRITY APPRENTICE AND BROTHERS AND SISTERS 5/17/09

Amazing Race, Celebrity Apprentice and Brothers and Sisters had their season finales last week.  For those who haven't heard:

Harvard educated lawyer siblings, Victor and Tammy won The Amazing Race.

The controversial Joan Rivers won The Celebrity Apprentice.

And Brothers and Sisters had a lame season finale except for the Rebecca and Justin marriage proposal. 

All three series have been renewed for the fall with Apprentice coming back in 2010.

LOST TV SEASON FINALE RECAP 5/13/09

On the fifth season finale of Lost, we met a man on the beach named, "Jacob" who was the person in charge of the island and who figured prominently in this episode.

Stuart wanted to keep on drilling regardless of the consequences and Dr. Chang's objections.

In childhood flashbacks, Kate was busted stealing and in Sawyer's he was furious that his parents were killed and Jacob had a brief interaction with both of them.

Juliet was able to knock out the guard on the sub and the trio which included Sawyer and Kate and instructed the pilot to take them back to the island to stop Jack from unearthing the hydrogen bomb.  That bomb could kill everyone on the island, but Jack thought that it could change everyone's destinies including a safe landing for the plane that originally crashed and jump started this entire series!

Locke ordered that Ben kill Jacob once they found him!  Locke said that all the bad things that Ben did, he did for a man he never met, so why wouldn't he want to kill Jacob!  As Locke, Ben, Richard and Sun arrived to meet Jacob, Richard noticed the giant statue which now was just a foot and told the crew that, that's where Jacob lived!  Ben and Locke entered the statue.

In Sayid's flashback, we saw him talking to a stranger (Jacob) who was asking for directions.  Then a car ran into his wife, Lydia, killing her and the auto kept going.

Richard knocked out Eliose and took her away leaving Jack and Sayid on their own to leave via a tunnel that led back to the Dharma Initiative community in which Sayid said that they had to, "hide in plain sight" by wearing the Dharma uniforms.  But, the two were spotted and a shootout occurred with Sayid being shot in the stomach.  Jack and Sayid were saved by Hugo and Miles who were driving in a passing van.  But, the van was stopped by Sawyer, Kate and Juliet.  Sawyer said what was done is done and you can't go back!  Jack wanted to make things right with Kate if he was able to turn back time, but Sawyer wasn't able to convince him otherwise and beat him up!  But, Juliet stopped the madness and said that she changed her mind about stopping Jack!  Juliet told Sawyer that she wanted Jack to turn back time so that she wouldn't get hurt by Sawyer since she saw how he looked at Kate earlier.  Jack convinced Kate that taking the  hydrogen bomb and dropping it in the proper place was the right thing to do.

Sawyer, Kate and Juliet met Rose and Bernard and their dog who they haven't seen in three years!  When Sawyer mentioned that he could have gotten them into the Dharma Initiative, Rose and Bernard said that they were, "retired"!  And Rose and Bernard were happy with their relatively blissful existence and directed the trio in the right direction.

Alana in massive facial bandages in a flashback was visited by Jacob and he asked her if she could help him.

As Jacob was sitting on a bench, he heard a thump behind him and it was Locke who was lying on the ground, but Jacob said that it was going to be okay.

In a flashback of Jin and Sun's wedding, Jacob wished the young couple well, but Sun said, "who was that?".

Jack and his dad had a disagreement over a medical procedure in a flashback and Jacob was the, "helpful" stranger who gave him his candy from the vending machine.

Juliet's flashback was when her parents announced their divorce.

Hugo's flashback was when he was released from prison and shared a cab ride with Jacob who persuaded him to go back to the island.

Sawyer, Kate and Juliet were all finally on the same page and helped Jack set off the bomb that would set everything right, but after a brief period of eerie silence, a magnetic pull started pulling everything and everyone down the drilling tunnel including Juliet who despite Sawyer's valiant efforts was sucked away.  Jack was hit by a metal barrel and knocked out, but soon recovered.

Alana and her people showed up to see Richard with a huge metal box that had Locke's dead body in it!  But, Sun said then who is in the statue, it looked like Locke!

Ben and Locke finally met Jacob and did Ben kill Jacob as instructed?  Yes, he did after he still felt ignored by Ben.  He stabbed him to death and Jacob's last words were, "they're coming".

Juliet was still alive at the bottom of the well and noticed the hydrogen bomb resting near her and hit it until it finally went off!
